Signs of elephants

On our morning walk today, we saw this.

And this. It would be thrilling and terrifying to spend a night in a machan like this, watching for elephants. And yet, it’s all in a day’s work for many of the villagers around us.

  1. I adore elephants. My grand dad had an elephant (Indian) that he bought from a traveling circus. he had her in the backyard of his home for over ten years before the city forced him to sell her. She lived another ten or so years in the National Zoo in washington dc. He even “loaned” Dolly to the Smithsonian Institution for a month during an Indian exhibit.
